But appearances are deceiving, and there is always something stranger hidden beneath.
BIOS
GERARD ADIMANDO (George)-Has been married to his wife Donna for 25 years. Proud father of two sons, Gerard Jr and Louis. Retired from the NYC Dept of Sanitation in 2002 after 22 years of service, I am currently studying acting with William Esper. I've done quite a few movies, plays and commercials, I have an unquenchable passion for my art and I'm constantly striving for excellence.B TOM BERGER (Director)-Tom is the Artistic Director of (re:) Directions Theatre Company and a freelance theatre professional. His work as a director, music director, choreographer and performer has been seen all over the country in around 200 productions. Some notable new workte: My Sweetheart's the Man in the Moon (HTC), A Stoop on Orchard Street (off-B'way, LA, FL and 1st National Tour), Kingdom (NYMF) and many others. Tom directs regularly for Marist College and St. Peter's College and works as a teaching artist with several compnies in NYC, LI, NJ and Westchester, specializing in teen inner city populations. COURTNEY FERRELL (Assistant Stage Manager)-Previous stage managing credits include The Merchant of Venice, Importanceof Marrying Wells, Rocky Horror Show and Songs for a New World. Courtney is a Marist College graduate, currently teaching math at Bronx Theatre High School. Courtney would like to thank Tom for this great opportunity and congratulate re:directions on a fabulous debut. MARTHA GOODE (Sound Designer)- Sound Designs: Love Is Good (Love Creek Productions), You'll Shoot Your Eye Out! (The Brick), Training Wisteria (NY International Fringe Festival; Kennedy Center/ACTF; Regional Barbizon Award Winner, Boston Playwright's Theater), Translations of Xhosa (Kennedy Center/ ACTF, Boston University), Chrysalis (Producer's Club), Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night & As You Like It, Blood Wedding, No Place To Be Somebody (Boston University). CARY HITE (Otto)-Makes his third appearance on the New York stage in this production of Bordertown. A New York native, Cary has returned home to pursue acting full-time. Some of his stage credits include: Fences (Jim Bono), Macbeth (Malcolm), Good Boys (Corin), Jitney (Youngblood), and Side Effects May Vary (Brandon). You can also catch him in the indie feature Absolute Trust (Keith) currently in post-production. Cary would like to thank everyone who supports him and encourages everyone to expend their energy on positive, worthwhile pursuits. STEVES IVES (Playwright)-Steve grew up in the Bronx and New Jersey and currently resides in the West Village. He has written several screenplays, short stories, song lyrics and a ton of poetry. He's currently working on a comic book for DC Comics, as well as a follow-up to Bordertown. He urges you to catch the full-length version of this play when (re:) Directions mounts it later this year. MARTA KUERSTEN (Woman in White/Producer)-Marta is very happy to be working on this particular play with this group of people! She graduated from NYU with her BFA in 2005, where she appeared in various things such as The Country Club, King Lear, Merchant of Venice and Three Sisters. This past year she performed at the Kraine Theater as Celimene in Le Lycanthrope. She would like to thank (re:)Directions for everything. Steve, I'm so proud.
RON KURILOFF (Hank)-Ron loves Bordertown, his first live theatre show since The Trial last year. In between he has appeared in nine indepdendent shorts and one feature film yet to be released, Lunatics And Liars.
MICHAEL LITTNER (Little Mick)-Michael Littner is thrilled to be working on his first Official (RE) Direction's Theater Company production, of which he is a founding memeber. He recently was seen playing 15 different Characters in Dirty Girl at the Kraine theater. He recieved a BA in Drama from Vassar and attended the Proffesional Performing Arts school in Midtown Manhattan. Favorite Roles include Eugene In Brighton Beach Memoirs and Louis in Angels in America Part 1. Michael owes every thing to his parents, and would like to reflect on the words of one of his favorite aritisic inspirations...."WEEEEEEEE!!!"
DANIEL MARMION (Meter Guy)-Is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied at the Stella Adler Studios for seven semesters, and at Trinity College, Dublin for one semester. Regionally he has performed in Three Days of Rain (Walker/Ned; Workshop Playhouse), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bottom; Shakesperience Productions), and The Comedy of Errors (Antipholus of Ephesus; Carolinian Shakespeare Festival). In New York, recent productions include: Welcome Home Steve (Bill; Wizard Oil Productions), Slavs! (Rodent; Ailanthus Theatre Co.), and SubUrbia (Jeff; Summerskye Productions). BLAIR MIELNIK (Set Designer)-New York Credits include Ivanov at A.T.A., Henry IV 1 & 2 at La Mama ETC, The Mystery of Edwin Drood with St. Bart’s Players, The Dispute at Primary Stages, Training Wisteria NYC Fringe In Perpetuity Throughout the Universe at the Pantheon and The Merry Widow at the PAC, Westchester. Other work includes designs for Okoboji Summer Theatre, Lakes Region Summer Theatre on Lake Winnipesaukee, Fiddler of the Roof and Big River at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH and Six Characters in Search of an Author and Cendrillion for the Boston University Theatre. Other work on stage now is Moon Over Buffalo with St.Bart’s Players. Blair is currently designing the 125th anniversary celebration for the city of Roanoke, Virginia. ERIN SMILEY (Assistant Director)- NY directing credits include: Training Wisteria (NY International Fringe Festival), When Mother Calls (Samuel French Short Play Festival), Love is Good (Producer's Club), Mothers and Monsters (Beckman Theater), Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Mrs. Weinberg’s Profession, An Old Beagle Named Amour (ETC Productions) Tremulous, Sun Tea and Bagels (Brief Acts Company). Erin has served as an assistant on productions at Downstairs at the Flea, New Georges, and The Brick. Directing credits outside of NY include: Grease, How to Succeed…, Footloose (Roslyn, LI). Erin is Associate Artistic Director of (re:) Directions Theatre Company, a graduate of Vassar College, an Associate Member of SSDC, and a Member of Lincoln Center Directors Lab.
KASEY WILLIAMS (Sedona)- Kasey Williams is a true southerner born and raised in East Tennessee. Since her move to New York nearly three years ago she has had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles in both film and theater.; From her first film role as a "flesh eating zombie" in Last Rites of the Dead (voted best screenplay in the NYC horror film festival) to Amy (a young, drug-addicted prostitute) in the independent feature BOI to her most recent stage role as singer-song writer Nana in the premier production of Love is Good. Kasey is also one of the founding members of (re:) Directions Theater Company and is so thrilled to be working with such a talented, intelligent and motivated group. She thanks each and every one of them for there commitment and inspiration. DAVID WITHROW (Costume Designer)-Broadway assistant credits include The Wedding Singer, The Threepenny Opera and The Apple Tree(Roundabout). Design credits; Marisol(Dreamscape Theatre Company),The Book of the Dun Cow(PTC)Trojan Women 2.0 and The Uncertainty Principle(Milkcan), Animal Farm(Synapse Tour), The Miss Education of Jenna Bush(2005 Fringe), Hamlet(ttw), Twelfth Night(The Vital), and Hedwig and the Angry Inch(Producer’s Club). He is currently working on King Lear at The Public starring Kevin Kline. CIARA WONG (Officer Becky Sexton)-Ciara has most recently performed at the Beckmann theatre as Mrs. Cheveley in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband. Ciara's previous work includes playing Women of the Wilde West for One Acts and Mia in Love is Good, performed at the Producers Club. Other past performances include Fearless at the Michael Chekhov Theatre, Ophelia in Dogg's Hamlet and Miss Julie in Miss Julie at the Schapiro Theatre. Independent film credits include NoteWorthy Actions and Coin Operated Boy. Has studied at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin,The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute and at the International Theatre New York. Ciara is proud and excited to be part of (re:) Directions Theatre Company and to be performing in Bordertown, a play in which she truly believes and enjoys. Kyle Zingler (Wyatt Gomez) Kyle is thrilled to be making his NYC theatre debut! He began his career at Geva Theatre Center in his hometown, Rochester NY. In 2004, Kyle had the privilege of serving as an apprentice and teacher at the same program he attended as a teenager, Geva Theatre’s Summer Conservatory. Kyle trained at Mason Gross School of the Arts BFA conservatory program at Rutgers University, as well as Atlantic Acting School. Favorite Theatre Credits: The Two Gentlemen of Verona (dir. by William Esper), Floating Rhoda and the Glue Man, Peace between War, Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), and Joe Hardy in The Hardy Boys… Kyle is currently working with the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Workshop developing a new TV drama called “First Star I See”. Film: The Paper Trail (Independent Feature), Can’t Hurry Love, The Enigmatics, and Mother’s Love. Kyle has also done various print campaigns for Verizon Wireless, TAG body spray, and commercials.
