Halley Bondy is a freelance journalist whose articles have appeared in Backstage, the Daily News, the Village Voice, and Newsweek Magazine. Her first full length play, a morbid comedy called "The Gods of Metuchen," was produced at the New Dance Group Arts Center.
The play won the ONE Festival at Teatro la Tea.
It was reviewed in Flavorpill:
"In one harrowing leap from the frying pan of a childhood spent in a polygamist cult and back into the fire of normal "free" society, the astonishingly ignorant Mick comes of age in our confusing world whose rules of behavior make no sense to her… nor to us, as we observe our absurd social codes through her innocent eyes. In a solo monologue, Halley Bondy as narrator inhabits numerous characters onstage, transporting us seamlessly into each one's dark heart. This luminous 23-year-old actress/playwright razes cultural mores with humor and gut-wrenching pathos in her spellbinding, sharply authentic and award-winning play." ---Flavorpill
