for The Time Crawlers Save the World
a new play by Gina Stevensen
to be performed as part of Manhattan Repertory Theatre's
LONG One Act Play competition
SYNOPSIS:
When humanity is destroyed via the destruction of language, only four nerds (and one talking cat) remain on Earth. Jinx, a girl who worships words, discovers time travel through etymologies. The five unlikely heroes team up in an attempt to travel through time to save their dying world—but playing with space and time turns out to be very dangerous indeed.
SEEKING:
FLUMMOX, Jinx's only friend, who also happens to be a cat. Dependable, loyal, slightly mysterious. Male who moves well.
HALIFAX, a historian. Goofy, smart, and enthusiastic about anything ancient. Some physical comedy. Male who moves well.
FLAX, a mathematician. Practical, analytical, always thinking ahead. Some physical comedy. Female who moves well.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Sunday, Feb. 12th rehearsals begin
Saturday, March 17th is our technical rehearsal at the theater
Monday March 19th is our dress rehearsal
PERFORMANCES:
Tuesday, March 22nd @ 6:30pm
Wednesday, March 23rd @ 6:30pm
Thursday, March 24th @ 6:30pm
COMPETITION FINALS:
Saturday, March 24th @ 7pm
Auditions will be held
WEDNESDAY, FEB 8th 11am-1pm AND 7-9pm
FRIDAY, FEB 10th 11am-1pm AND 7-9pm
LOCATION TBD. Sides will be provided.
