Do you have a dream of performing in your own solo show? Here’s your chance to develop your solo show and perform it at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in TIMES SQUARE this Winter.
In this class, you will develop your 30 minute show, be directed in it and perform in it at Manhattan Rep.
You will learn:
The Keys to writing and developing a compelling solo show.
The key to "charisma" on stage.
How to create a exciting opening to engage your audience.
How to communicate with an audience with ease.
How to "hypnotize" your audience with words and simplicity.
How to build and pace your play.
and much more!
The class is taught by Ken Wolf, Artistic Director of Manhattan Repertory Theatre. Ken is the author of 16 plays (all produced in NYC) and he has directed over 35 productions in the last 8 years. This winter, he will be performing in his new Solo show, THE PEOPLE IN MY HIPS at Manhattan Rep. (January 17, 24, 31 and February 1st.) As an actor, he has played Mozart in Amadeus, Vershinin in The Three Sisters and Biff in The Death of a Salesman, among others. Most recently, he appeared at Manhattan Rep in Conversations with Dog with Anthony J. Ribustello, and in his one-man play, GHOST. His artistic perspective, and creative nurturing will make this class and the final performances a unique opportunity for you to get your play off the page and on to the stage and to have grand fun in the process.
