FIRST STEPS, PERSONALIZED THEATRE GUIDANCE FOR YOUR TEEN

Does your teen love theatre but you are not quite sure how to help them take the next step?

FIRST STEPS is a series of private 75 minute one to one Zoom sessions created for teens ages 13 to 19 who are interested in exploring playwriting, acting, musical theatre, directing, or a possible future in theatre.

Rather than leaving your teen to figure everything out alone, I will help them explore their interests, answer their questions, understand their options, and create a personalized roadmap for what they can do next.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the Zoom session too, so you can hear the guidance firsthand, ask your own questions, and better understand how to support your teen's creative journey.

Explore the FIRST STEPS sessions below and choose the one that best matches your teen's interests, goals, and dreams.

ABOUT KEN WOLF

Theatre transformed my life when I was a teenager. At a time when I felt lost and unsure of where I belonged, discovering theatre gave me direction, purpose, confidence, and a sense of self worth. It gave me something meaningful to work toward and helped me discover abilities in myself that I did not yet know were there. That experience is one of the reasons I care so deeply about helping young people discover their own creative path.

For more than 35 years, I have built my life and career in theatre as an Off-Broadway director and producer, playwright, actor, playwriting coach, teacher, and Artistic Director of Manhattan Repertory Theatre. I have written and produced plays, directed and produced countless productions, performed my own solo work, written books about playwriting and theatre, and worked with thousands of playwrights, actors, directors, and theatre artists at many different stages of their creative journeys.

I know firsthand that a young person's interest in theatre can become much more than an extracurricular activity.

It can build confidence, discipline, communication skills, creativity, resilience, and sometimes even provide a direction for their future. Through FIRST STEPS, my goal is not to tell your teen who they should become. It is to listen, answer their questions, share what I have learned from a lifetime in theatre, and help them develop a path that is exciting and rewarding for them. Parents are welcome to be part of this conversation too, because helping a teenager find something they truly care about is life changing.
